1000 Angels Program
Pay it forward for someone in need of your support.
First 1000 Days Australia knows that giving, sharing, and caring are the foundations of strong cultures and vibrant communities. This caring spirit has seen many Australians offer support to individuals and communities to thrive and flourish, especially through programs that have a strong alignment between donor values and community opportunity.
Gifting is a great testament to the dedication of the sector, and to the generosity of those Australians who have contributed to making the daily lives of millions of Australians better. Right across our nation, philanthropists, charities, and volunteers are making a difference every day.
First 1000 Days Australia is an Indigenous business dedicated to facilitating time-specific, culturally respectful interventions from conception until a child’s second birthday. To achieve this, we reconceptualised the international first 1000 days movement around Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural values to achieve positive social, health, and wellbeing outcomes for First Nations families.
An evidence-based initiative, First 1000 Days Australia works with multiple communities to provide health care practitioners with the information they need to do their best work with young families. We have now developed a 5-module course with a bonus masterclass that has just been granted 40 Continuing Professional Development points through the Royal Australasian College of General Practitioners. The course explores how to implement the cultural determinants of health so as to provide strong foundations for life-long wellbeing, as well as information on how the First 1000 Days Australia model can be implemented across Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities Australia-wide.
This is where you come in. We need 1000 Angels to sponsor a Course Sponsorship for a participant to complete the online program. The cost of one sponsorship is $1250 per person.
Are you ready to gain your wings?
We are unashamedly a for-profit Indigenous business. Here at First 1000 Days Australia, we love paying tax; it is how we contribute to nation building. By purchasing a sponsorship for someone else, you will be meeting your organisation’s procurement goals rather than facilitating charity through a tax-deductible gift. You will also be making a contribution to strengthening our First Nations families in this and future generations.
What do I need to do to become a First 1000 Days Australia Angel?
Our Angels pay $1250 to facilitate a worker or a community person to undertake our online course so they can better understand and engage with our First Nations values, our Charters and our children – for free. This act of generosity enables course participants to access, and be supported to deliver, First 1000 Days Australia early interventions and prevention strategies. It also continues our engagement with families through programming, product development and design. We are ambitious and have a lot of work to do. That is why we invite you to contact us at info@first1000daysaustralia.com to gain your First 1000 Days Australia Angel wings.
For options to sponsor several places, please get in contact with kim@karabenaconsulting.com to make an appointment with Professor Kerry Arabena.
Otherwise, contact info@first1000daysaustralia.com for more information about this and future opportunities.
