The First 1000 Days Australia Council appreciates that parenting is a skill learned from being parented and is specific to the demands of a particular way of life.
First 1000 Days Australia was represented on the the Northern Territory Early Childhood Development Expert Panel, with Professor Kerry Arabena being named among the internationally renowned experts who gave advice on the Territory’s Early Childhood Development Plan.
The Queensland Government invested $1.5 million over three years (2016–19) to implement First 1000 Days Australia in Townsville and Moreton Bay, thereby showing a commitment to taking a broader approach to improving the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families.
